Bali Eats

Bali is sprouting new cafes and restaurants every time we visit. Other than yoga, we spent a good amount of our time checking out cafes and restaurants around our hood.

Watercress – They serve delicious, healthy food and kudos to their presentation too.The modern vintage decor creates a relax and comfortable ambiance which entices us to go back again and again.

Best time to visit: Brunch. We usually swing by Watercress for brunch after Yoga. Desa Seni is only 5 minutes away by car.

Livingstone Café & Bakery – This pâtisserie is fairly new. They serve fresh bread, pasties and sweets. Menu is kinda limited but portions are huge.

The Bistrot – The vintage french decor and the huge industrial floor to ceiling glass entrance is pretty interesting. The rib eye steak was a winner, however, pasta was a disappointment.

Revolver – It wasn’t that easy to locate this cafe, as its situated behind two retail stores. But do not let that deter you, especially if you are a coffee lover. We reckon they serve the best coffee in Bali. Breakfast options are not too shabby either.

Opposite Bali Clinic. Enter from ‘This is a Love Song’ or ‘Home’ store.
Or you could walk down lane beside the store and look out for a rather inconspicuous door to enter.

Sea Circus – This cafe is bright and fun, it sets the mood for a day of sunbathing or water sports at the beach.

Sarong – Sarong had strong reviews, so we decided to give it a try. Perhaps we did not order the right dishes, we felt that the food was nice but nothing to shout about. We loved the black rice dessert though.

Nook Warung – The restaurant has a great view of the rice fields. Great spot to chill and relax. Tip: you don’t have to travel all the way to Ubud to look at rice fields!

Habitual Quench and Feed – This little gem is tuck away at very peaceful Umalas area. The best steak sandwich in Bali in our opinion.

Beach bars like Ku De Ta and Potato Head really need no further introduction. We like them both.  Mosaic beach club however is relatively new. It is less crowded, rather chill and you get to enjoy sunset too on Batu Belig beach.

  1. There too many foreigners made it looks like in overseas rather in Bali. I skeptic until near end of post where I can see rice fields that definitely Bali. Nice try.
